How to start a podcast


The basics of setting up a podcast aren’t difficult: you record an episode, you upload it to a hosting platform such as Libsyn, and you connect it to a podcast directory such as Apple Podcasts.

But how can you ensure that you are creating a podcast that works well for your business or your community? How can you make sure your content reaches the right ears?

Firstly, you need to make sure you purchase the right equipment. Next you need to stop and think about who you are creating your podcast for and why? What will it do for your business? Why will people listen? What’s in it for them?

Then you need to make sure your podcast answers your ideal clients questions. You need to do your research. Once you’ve done that, and know the keywords they’d be searching for online, you have some valuable tools for creating a podcast that matters to your new audience.

As far as I am concerned, a successful podcast is all in the planning and research stage. Skip this, and your podcast will not gain the initial momentum you want.
